FMM Innovation Conference 2013

As Asean region bustles with development and economic activity, Malaysia is latching onto the momentum and continues to seek ways for further the nation development.  Innovation is one of the driving forces behind a modern high-income economy.  Developing new ideas and products and bringing them successfully to the market not only makes businesses more competitive, it also makes Malaysian economy stronger and more able to compete in the global marketplace.

1,200 Malaysian business executives surveyed by the 2013 GE Global Innovation Barometer cite innovation as both a driver and challenge for growth, and are more supporting of innovation compared with the global average.

BankTech Asia 2013

The term banking and technology has become so intertwined that one cannot exist without the other. Knowledge Group of Companies acknowledges the increasing need for bankers to have a single platform to expose themselves to the latest trends, state of the art technology vendors for banks to remain competitive.

MALAYSIAN BRAND FORUM 2013

Malaysian Brand Forum 2013 is scheduled to be held on 3 October 2013 at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.  The objective of this Forum is to promote the National Mark of Malaysian Brand as a symbol of excellence, quality and distinction of Malaysian products and services as well as to promote the recipients and to encourage the public to buy products or hire services which are certified with the National Mark of Malaysian Brand.  The Forum also aims to enhance the awareness of SMEs about the importance of branding, and is focussed on exploring new approaches to branding, in order to encourage the development of companies mainly SMEs in Malaysia as well as sharing of experience with a very prominent speaker.

The Event comprises:

  • 2-hour forum with prominent speaker(s);
  • Trophy and Certificate presentation to the National Mark of
          Malaysian Brand recipients;
  • Press Conference with Media; and
  • Networking Session between the National Mark of Malaysian
          Brand Recipients and Media.

In the effort to enhance the prestige of the National Mark of Malaysian Brand, DYTM Raja Muda Perak, Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah Ibni Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah will be invited as the Guest-of-Honour,  deliver the Keynote Speech for the Event, and present the Certificate and Trophy of the National Mark of Malaysian Brand recipients. A total of 300 participants are expected to attend the event and a total of twenty (20) companies from various sectors are expected to receive the National Mark of Malaysian Brand trophy and certificate this year.

2013 MSC MALAYSIA CLOUD COMPUTING CONFERENCE

The 2013 MSC Malaysia Cloud Conference is an inaugural cloud conference to be organised  by Multimedia Development Corporation  Sdn Bhd (MDeC), to promote the MSC Malaysia Cloud Computing Initiative. 

The key objective of MSC Malaysia Cloud Computing Conference is to expose our industry (Developers and Adopters*) to current and future Cloud technologies offered by major players such as Google, Facebook, Amazon EC2 and SalesForce.com . It is also to create awareness of the value, policies, business practices and impact of cloud computing to the Global Market.

It is also a platform for MSC Malaysia Status companies to explore best practices, solutions and deployments of Cloud Computing together with program participating partners and key Cloud players, as well as to promote their Software as a Service (SaaS ) solutions to potential customers or SMEs.

Jaringan Usahawan Nusantara Sedunia (JUNS)

Jaringan Usahawan Nusantara Sedunia (“Global Nusantara Entrepreneur Network”) is the first global event to gather Malay-speaking entrepreneurs from South East Asia as well as the world-wide Malay diaspora who believe in celebrating the Malay language as a common nexus for entrepreneur collaboration and partnerships.

JUNS 2013 will feature two days of high-impact sharing, networking, business matching and exhibitions focusing on technology, the creative industry, franchising and souk segment i.e. Malay-lifestyle products (and a start-up pitching competition added in), all conducted in the Malay language (in its various evolutions across the region).

JUNS is intended to be an annual affair from hereon that will energise the Malay-speaking entrepreneur community and inspire it to recapture a long-lost vibrancy and connectivity through the shared platform of entrepreneurship. 

We look forward to engaging with entrepreneurs from all levels (start-ups to full ventures) at JUNS 2013 in Shah Alam on 8&9 October 2013.

SME-UNIVERSITY INTERNSHIP 2013 CHAMPIONSHIP

The Championship marks the culmination of the SME-University Internship Programme. The Championship accords recognition of the talents and capabilities of students from participating universities for their success in ‘turning around’ a small business.

This competition will be contested by teams from 14 participating public universities and will serve as an impetus to acculturate entrepreneurship among the younger generations to drive the future economy of Malaysia.

IBM ASEAN SmartCamp

An initiative designed to spark innovation and assist entrepreneurs bring technologies that tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues. IBM ASEAN SmartCamp will bring together pre-selected entrepreneurs from ASEAN, to pitch their companies based on a set of criteria aligned to IBM Smarter Planet initiative.

Designed to provide entrepreneurs with mentoring and insight needed to continue to drive growth and innovation in their respective markets. Mentoring and networking will be key at the event. There will also be an opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs, serial entrepreneurs, VCs, angel investors, accelerators, entrepreneurial organisations, academia and IBM leaders that provide the basic support ecosystem for growth and market acceptance.

Young Enterprise Program -  2013 Annual Achievers’ Showcase

AMCHAM has run  the Junior Achievement -Young Enterprise Program (JA-YE) since 1989.  This  community education program, offered to schools in the Klang Valley and Penang, develops students’ skills in business acumen and teamwork through creating their own small enterprises.

The event is a showcase of the companies the students have developed over the past year.  Awards are presented to recognize the top student companies in Malaysia, who then compete regionally.  As a tie-in to the main GES event, the winning companies could also display their booths at the GES on October 11 and be recognized during the awards dinner.

POWER LUNCH – A NETWORK TO EMPOWER ACTION

The POWER LUNCH is designed to connect women to the right network as a call for commitment and action to provide a good environment for a woman entrepreneur’s journey.

Themed Sustaining Women Participation In Entrepreneurship – What Every Woman Can Do, it is an empowering 2 hour session of exchange that leads to action. It will accommodate 15% achievers, 15% young leaders and 70% women entrepreneurs in an open space technology to drive participation and use culinary as the analogy of entrepreneurship. The POWER LUNCH’s objectives are to act as a collective influence of accessible role models; to put front WOMEN as an important entrepreneurial agenda in GES and a vehicle to push women to the next level - healthy intersection between entrepreneurial, social and economic values.

1ST YOUTH SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONFERENCE (YSEC) 2013

The Youth Social Entrepreneurship Conference (YSEC) is conceptualized within the broader free enterprise framework of honouring and celebrating the critical role that our young social entrepreneurs can play in helping to sustain the socio-economic development of our society.
The conference is targeted at young social entrepreneurs who could then become catalysts in developing a culture of social entrepreneurship among the young people to empower the less advantaged sections of society help themselves.
 
The YSEC aims to address the aspirations and needs of established young social entrepreneurs as well as entrepreneurship mentors and practitioners.
