Vinnie Lauria (born Vincent Lauria) is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He is a General Partner at Golden Gate Ventures and a fellow of the Kauffman Fellows Program. He is an adviser to Blueseed, a seasteading venture to create a startup community located on a vessel stationed in international waters near the coast of Silicon Valley. He was part of the founding team of Meetro, a notable start-up that built a location-based services (LBS) social messenger built out of a garage in Palo Alto. It was launched in 2004 and has since been terminated. Lauria co-founded Lefora.com and served as VP of Product until the company's acquisition by CrowdGather, Inc. Lefora.com is a forum hosting service, home to topics as varied as Automotive, Music, Gaming, Sports, and Finance forums. Lauria is also known for founding the 10,000+ member Silicon Valley NewTech Meetup in Palo Alto, CA. He was a contributing author to the book "Web 2.0 Fundamentals: With AJAX, Development Tools, and Mobile Platforms". Lauria is a graduate of Boston University's College of Engineering. |
